Counting down 5 things about the author Part 2: STEPHANIE

Looking back at older posts I've noticed that I've mentioned Stephanie a lot yet I haven't really gone into depth about her. For this reason, I decided for part 2 [out of a whopping 5] of my '5 things about the author' would be about her [and our relationship] and for those keeping track at home- I'm not sucking up.. I think :)

  • Stephanie, My One & Only

okay, so it's an older picture but it works...[Left- Stephanie | Right- Warren]
-----------------------------------------------------
Before I go into great detail[s], let's jump to present day for a couple seconds. Stephanie and I are currently engaged [engaged for 2 years in July, together for 3..pretty sure those are the numbers] We live together- Under my grandparent's roof, and things couldn't get any better [that is- until we move out on our own; after we're done our schooling though]
-----------------------------------------------------
Okay, now we do the detail[s] & rewind back 3 years ago !! [please note- I will be leaving patches of detail out due to privacy, and let's face facts- some things are for us to know; not the internet] I suppose I'll start with the part of the story where we were both in grade 12 [two different high schools if I may add.] and we officially met through a mutual friend of ours. We were both over at this friends house and [as bad as this may sound] I couldn't look away from her. Every two seconds, I'd catch myself looking at her.. I had to get to know her. Ultimately, she ended up staying at my place one night [as her parents live out of town and it'd be easier to get to the high school she went to from my place at the time.] Eventually, that one night staying at my place became two nights, to three to four- and we were getting closer and closer. [well, you know- we'd talk about pretty much anything/hang out/joke around] One night- after she had become a regular at my place [still blows my mind knowing my parents were okay with this, and my sister and her got along :D] it was late, and we had just finished watching a movie [truthfully, I forget which one..we watched a lot during those nights] we were about to go to bed- until we abruptly kissed.. one thing led to another and...yeah. Long story short, we actually ended up dating [officially] after we graduated [anniversary date of July 1, 2009] and since then- we actually moved from the small town we lived in [when we first met] to the city of Ottawa !! [so ultimately, we went from living in a small town with my parents to ALL of my family moving to Ottawa.] Now Stephanie and I are going on 3 years together, we're engaged [not planning to marry for a few years] and planning on looking for our own place as soon as we're done school [I have one year left, and she starts in September] -To make this post feel like less writing and more pictures- here's a few pictures of Stephanie and I through out our times together [in no particular order]
*also note- most of these pictures also include the tag of 'Isabella'. She is my sister, she's the greatest sibling in the whole wide world, and no one can say different. I love you Sis, don't ever forget it :)*

[Stephanie & I- probably should have smiled I think..]

Counting down 5 things about the author Part 1: HORROR MOVIES!

Recently, I've been going through a couple blogs [anywhere from Blogger to Tumblr to WordPress, etc] that I enjoy reading such as FreddyInSpace .[this is a great blog for those who absolutely LOVE the horror genre by the way, and I'm not just promoting you, John !] Freddy In Space is run by a man I only know through the Internet, but none the less- is a pretty damn awesome guy! I almost always agree with his thoughts on certain movies [not all, but most] and it actually was because of FreddyInSpace I chose to even write a blog in the first place !!

ANYWAY,
back to what I was getting at. One of the recurring themes in these blogs I was looking at was a section involving 'things you probably don't know about the author' or at least something like that.. So ultimately, I thought that this was a pretty cool idea, so I figured that it'd be fun to do my own '5 things about the author.' even if you may or may not know some of these facts already.
  • I absolutely love horror movies

you know those times when you're sitting alone [or with friends] and the lights are off, it's Dead Silent in the house and it's dark out and you're watching something ridiculously creepy like Insidious ? That's pretty well, one of my favorite things to do on a Friday night [you know, unless Stephanie isn't up to it- then I usually would wait until she's gone to visit family] I absolutely love the horror genre in general- Especially those that actually make you think. Below, you will find 3 of my favorites horror movies in no particular order..

[as stated in previous posts, this version; the original- is a masterpiece in my opinion. It stands at Number one on my list of favorite horror movies- no argument will ever change that]
-----------------------------------------------------
http://images.wikia.com/ec/images/6/66/Creepshow_ver1.jpg

[Creepshow- this movie was one I had seen as a kid and then saw again when I was 18.. sadly, I couldn't remember the title- I'd like to express my thanks to John- writer of FreddyInSpace- for helping me remember !! I think one of the things I enjoyed most about this one was the idea of combining both comic style art, and horror together.]
-----------------------------------------------------

[Some might call me an avid fan of the SAW series- I own all 7 on DVD, I have and have beaten both Xbox360 games, and one friend in particular even claims I've watched them enough- I could probably even escape one.. That's right, my final pick is the SAW series. I enjoy all of them so I refuse to pick just one for this list. It was the SAW films that actually pushed me into the world of 'gore-horror' and I've been watching them ever since. I will say for arguments sake that my least favorite is SAW II. Although a good film, I've just seen this particular installment too many times to count. <- it was even the first one I saw, but then went back and watched 1, then 2 again, and so on- until I reached the final chapter: 7]

Firework Eyes- Haunted Hearts news of the day: New movie review coming soon..

So I've been in a mood to write a new movie review ever since I finished my last one which was Human Centipede 2:Full Sequence [even though I wrote that one awhile ago!] However, my problem was [and pretty well- still is] that I couldn't decide on what movie to review. That's where you guys come in..
Below you will see a few movie posters and you get to choose which movie I do the review on! [if none of the movies I've posted are what you want reviewed, then leave me a comment here, or on the Facebook page on the movie you'd prefer]

Army Of Darkness
-----------------------------------------------------

A Nightmare On Elm Street [1984]
-----------------------------------------------------

A Nightmare On Elm Street [2010-Remake]
-----------------------------------------------------

Let The Right One In..
-----------------------------------------------------

I am planning on doing a review on each of these [plus many others] I just can't decide on which to do next.. So I'd love to hear your thoughts on which would be best to do first- Tell me here, or on Facebook !!

Movie box set of the day: The Harry Potter Wizard Collection.

I can't believe I'm going to say this- [mainly because I'm about to sound like a major hypocrite..] but I know that it's a really bad idea to buy a series of movies on DVD or Blu-ray one at a time, mainly because as soon the series is done, stores are going to try and make even more profit by selling a major box set with all the movies for less than all the DVDs had cost individually. Here's where I sound like the hypocrite- Growing up, [hell, I still love these films regardless of age..] I could watch Harry Potter like nothing was wrong.. I could lie in bed, and watch the first 2 or 3 one after the other and not even realize that I'm still going. Unfortunately, [and I still have a terrible habit of it] every time a new chapter in the world of Harry Potter came out [as in every time a new Potter film hit store shelves..] I'd have to go and buy it that day. I got a thousand warnings about how by the end of the series there would be an amazing set that I should just wait for- but I wasn't one to care. I mean, it's Harry fucking Potter! I'd have to be crazy to wait for the end of the series just to watch it at home! [I wasn't about to wait for 5 more movies to come to theaters and then also wait for them on DVD.. that's just crazy talk!] Now, the Harry Potter movies are over, I own them all on DVD, and until now- I was quite proud of myself. However, it seems that all those warnings came true. Wait.. what am I talking about? See below:

Harry-Potter-Box-Set-2.jpg

[wait... so what is it?]

  • Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban

  • Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire

*Remember- that's just what's been announced so far, and it doesn't even mention the crazy trunk packaging!*

Amazon has it on pre-order at a slightly reasonable price of $350. However, the only release date the set has is 2012, so you still got time to save up for this insane box set for the Potterhead in the family !

New Facebook fan page for Firework Eyes-Haunted Hearts!

Although I try to post as much as I can here, [assuming I have a topic] I realized fairly quickly that it wouldn't be enough to just copy and paste the link to my Facebook timeline. [that IS what their called now right?] So I have decided that it might be best to make an actual Facebook page where everything that I post here on the blog will become visible. To make it easier- I have posted the link here so you should go 'Like' it as soon as you possibly can. [No pressure or anything..] I have put the Display Picture as a skeletal raven, so it shouldn't be too hard to find the Fan Page. Make sure to tell all your friends!!

Also, I realize this is a fairly short post- However, it's just meant as a small notice.. so it wasn't meant to be super long in the first place. -Warren

New trailer of the day: Frankenweenie

I'd like to apologize as I was going to post this yesterday, but I ended up getting got caught up trying to fix my Human Centipede2 Review [it really fell out of it's alignment somehow, and some of the font went weird..] Anyways! Speaking first and foremost as the Tim Burton fan I am, I already own the original version of Frankenweenie [as most other fans know, it was released on the special features of the re-release of Nightmare Before Christmas- which is technically how I own it] But for the past few years, we've been hearing about a Frankenweenie remake- rather than the original half an hour short. All we were told was that the newer version of the film would be stop-motion [So in the style of Nightmare Before Christmas and Corpse Bride] and that would be a full length film. Up until lately however, we have been completely denied anything more about the Frankenweenie remake except for a poster that has been released [I actually made a post about the poster which you can read about here] However, completely by accident, I found out that there was actually a trailer released yesterday which obviously I had to see. After watching the trailer, I noticed that Johnny Depp and Helena Bonham Carter [who are two familiar faces in Tim Burton's movies] are actually not in this movie. [which kind of makes me sad as Johnny is my favorite actor.] Why Tim decided to not have them in this movie actually almost confuses me- as they are usually right there with him [Depp being Tim's children's Godfather and Bonham Carter as his fianceƩ] Lastly, I'd like to share that during this weekend [most likely] I will be posting more content than usual, as Stephanie [as stated before- my fianceƩ] will be visiting her parents out of town until Sunday evening, therefore I will be up late posting until roughly 1am, if not later. Below, you will find the trailer for Frankenweenie..
